Literacy Tutor

LITERACY TUTOR REQUIRED - SEPTEMBER 2022

An enthusiastic and committed person is required to deliver our Thinking Reading programme with students who have a reading age deficit of 24+ months.

This will initially involve working 1-2-1 with a caseload of 6-8 students, three times per week, providing a fast-paced and exact programme.  You will be able to deliver immediate feedback and experience the joy of seeing students making rapid and sustained reading progress.

Previous experience is not necessary as full training will be provided.

Essential:

• A passion for reading.
• Ability to work effectively with and motivate young people.
• A belief in the potential of young people and the value of literacy as a lifelong skill.
• Meticulous attention to detail.
• Record keeping and organisation.
• GCSE English Language Grade 5/C.

Preferred:

• A Level English or equivalent.

This would be an ideal role for one seeking to work in teaching in the future.

The hours of this role may be adjustable to suit childcare or caring requirements.

25 hours per week

Monday – Friday (8:30am - 3:30pm)

39 working weeks per year / 44.5 paid weeks per year

Permanent Contract

Scale 3 Point 4 - £11,476.30 pro rata per annum (including fringe allowance)
